The Okapi Is the Only Living Relative of the Giraffe
Despite its zebra-like stripes on its legs and hindquarters, the okapi shares its closest genetic ties with the giraffe, not zebras. It also possesses a long, prehensile tongue and scent glands on its hooves for communication.
