Velociraptor Was Actually Turkey-Sized and Covered in Feathers

Despite their Hollywood portrayal as human-sized killing machines in Jurassic Park, real Velociraptors were about the size of a large turkey — roughly 60 cm tall and 1.8 m long — and weighed only about 15 kg. They were covered in feathers and likely used their famous curved claw for pinning prey rather than slashing. The Jurassic Park raptors were actually based more on Deinonychus or Utahraptor.
