Woolly Mammoths Were Still Alive When the Pyramids Were Built

Most woolly mammoths went extinct about 10,000 years ago, but a small isolated population survived on Wrangel Island in the Arctic until around 1650 BC. The Great Pyramid of Giza was completed around 2560 BC, meaning these mammoths were still walking the Earth while the pyramids stood.
