Interstellar

Located in the Sagittarius B2 region, this vast molecular cloud contains ethyl alcohol, among other complex organic molecules. Its immense size and composition highlight the surprising chemistry occurring in interstellar space, far beyond Earth's breweries.

This isn't a smell in the traditional sense, but rather the detection of ethyl formate, an ester molecule, in interstellar clouds. This same chemical compound is responsible for the characteristic aroma and flavor found in raspberries and rum here on Earth.
