Often called "the soul of Cape Verde," Cachupa is a rich stew made with corn, beans, vegetables, and various meats or fish. It’s a versatile dish, enjoyed for breakfast or as a main meal, symbolizing comfort and community.

Known as Bosanski Lonac, this hearty stew is prepared by layering large chunks of meat (beef, lamb, or veal) and various vegetables like cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and tomatoes, then slow-cooking it for extended periods.

While popular across the Balkans, Bosnian ćevapi are particularly renowned, often served in a somun flatbread with chopped onions and kajmak. Each region has its subtle variations, but the Bosnian style is distinctive.

Held every May in Crooked Tree Village, the Cashew Festival celebrates the harvest of this popular nut. Visitors can enjoy cashew wine, stewed cashews, and other local delicacies, along with cultural performances.

Kabuli Palaw, a celebrated dish, features steamed rice mixed with caramelized carrots, raisins, and often tender lamb or beef. It's a staple at special occasions, symbolizing Afghan hospitality and culinary richness.
